OPEN POSITION — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ANALYST

Location: Aventura, Florida, United States | Full Time | On-Site | No Travel Required

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Legal Support Worker. Reports directly to the intellectual property attorney. This role supports the firm’s trademark and IP enforcement practice through technical research, application drafting, database management, and client communication.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Computer Science, or an equivalent foreign degree in a related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct technical reviews, research, and analysis in support of IP matters.
  • Conduct trademark and patent searches. Draft trademark and patent applications.
  • Draw and interpret patent drawings.
  • Draft responses to USPTO’s office actions.
  • Maintain the intellectual property database.
  • Communicate with clients and technical subject matter experts.
  • Monitor the status of trademarks and patents and generate reports.
  • Support project management tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with technical evaluations and supporting documentation for visa petitions (e.g., EB-1A, H-1B, O-1, NIW) for engineers & inventors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Works directly with the Founding Attorney across the full spectrum of the firm’s IP practice — patent prosecution, trademark management and enforcement,
trade compliance and anti-counterfeiting analysis, technical research, and business immigration support. The role demands the analytical rigor and technical fluency that only a specialized engineering or scientific background provides.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Computer Science, or an equivalent foreign degree in a related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft patent applications, claims, and specifications for clients in mechanical, chemical, and technology sectors
  • Prosecute trademark applications through the full USPTO lifecycle (TESS, TEAS, TSDR); draft Office Action responses
  • Monitor and enforce trademarks on digital marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Alibaba); lead takedown strategies and CBP border enforcement
  • Analyze customs import data and supply chains to identify counterfeit goods and IP infringement patterns
  • Conduct patent landscape and freedom-to-operate research; prepare technical memoranda for attorney review
  • Assist in the analysis of qualifications and applicable activities for employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions, in accordance with the specialized knowledge required for each application
  • Maintain IP and immigration databases; manage prosecution deadlines

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering; Petroleum Engineering; Chemistry; or Computer
    Science / IT
  • Ability to read, draft, and interpret patent drawings, engineering schematics, and technical specifications
  • Strong analytical skills and data analysis capabilities — including data monitoring, pattern identification, and reporting
  • Advanced data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI, or equivalent)
  • Prior professional experience in an engineering or technical manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent matters with strict deadline discipline
